for the silence that still speaks
I miss the sweet organic conversations that stem from nothing and grow into something special. The kind of conversations that range from grass, to travel, to music, to yellow school buses, to love, to the food we ate last night, to mutual friends, to our future, and eventually loop back to the best of today. No matter how serious or seemingly heavy the topic was, it always included a bit of...

– Grey’s Anatomy (via quote-book)
I found a quote site on tumblr and got so excited! Isn’t that a good quote? That’s exactly why I love Grey’s Anatomy ;)
creative expressions
I’ve lately been feeling like I need to reinvent myself. Not in a sense of keeping up with get-rich-and-slim-quick programs or becoming someone else. I guess I mean it more in a sense of reigniting a sense of creative expression and allowing myself to let me be me.
I’ve realized that it’s been a very long time since I’ve actually taken time out to put aside logic, media...

Imelda Marcos wants to be called the “mother” or “grandmother” of the nation. How dare she!!!! After all the horrible political crimes her husband did, all the riches their family stole from the country, and years and years of political turmoil and corruption she still has the nerve to be called the “mother of the nation?” WTF!
money diets are mean
This is probably the hardest money diet ever! I’ve only spent $2 in a week, and only have $10 left until payday on the 31st. YYYYYIIIIIIKKKKKEEEESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!

"we are prophets of a future not our own"
Today, March 24th, marks the 30 year anniversary of the assassination of Archbishop Oscar Romero, a Catholic priest who advocated against non-violence in El Salvador. Best known for his use of liberation theology, Romero gave his life protecting the oppressed and as a tribune for justice.
I came across one of his poems today and thought I’d share his eloquence:

send me a pick-me-up please
I really hope this day, week and everything gets better. I don’t want to cry anymore, and I hate that I feel this way. GAH!
Dear Lord, send me a pick-me-up please…..and thank you =)

Don’t expect this article to be uber profound, but I just enjoy the author’s tone. It really is true that we all face that constant battle between our heart and our brains. This just proves that our heart drives everything.
“It’s just a hint and a whisper of an idea so far. But it turns out, when measured electromagnetically, the brain isn’t the organ that gives...

– Cesar Chavez
If anyone asks me again why I prefer not to eat meat, I think I’ll refer them to Cesar Chavez. He eloquently sums up my life.
Decisions, decisions, decisions....
So I’ve been given a bonus and I want to make sure I spend it wisely before it runs out as quickly and unexpectedly as it came in. I have too many necessary expenses that are screaming for attention, I can’t decide where to allocated my new found funds.
Should I use it to pay down and/or clear my credit cards?
Should I use it as a down payment for a car?
Should I use it as a down...
here's to my icon of strength
A part of my mom’s radiation therapy for her cancer is a 5 day isolation. Since she’s radioactive and highly vulnerable she’s stuck in her room all day, can’t cook, can’t talk to us (unless we keep a distance), can’t share bathroom and can’t eat anything but boiled veggies. If you can’t believe how many “can’ts” there are in that...
