– Sex and the city (via kari-shma) (via quote-book)
I’m probably the only girl who isn’t a big fan of Sex and the City but I have to admit, this makes a lot of sense.
If you read this, I’d appreciate a prayer and shout out. I’m about as ready and excited as I can be……..and I’m in this to win this. Game on!
the best advice always comes from kindred spirits
I’ve been having the most interesting conversations with some of the most influential people in my life lately, and I am completely captivated by them. Topics have ranged from life situations, challenges, motivations, careers, relationships and/or friendships, faith, music, adventure, travel, food, health…….well everything. Each has been more enthralling than the next, with more...
Who the hell cares what anybody else thinks!?
Just look into your heart… do...
– Dr. Bob Kelso (via quote-book)
Have I ever told you how much I love life? Why yes, yes, I do.
I'm so excited, I'm so excited....I'm ssssoooo...
Just submitted my application. I’m ready to live my way into the answers. Let’s pray this turns out to be the silver lining after all =)
If you read this, please say a gentle prayer for me. Thanks…I appreciate you =)
Growing up Filipino overseas →
Interesting article on what it means to grow up Filipino overseas. I especially liked the Jose Rizal quotes at the end of the article:
“In the great whirlwind of the world, let each atom look for the best nucleus, let it rise when and where it can! The only thing you can do is to educate well your child and inculcate in him noble and honorable sentiments so that one day, if good luck sends...
Go away big C, you're not welcome here! →
Cancer has always been an unwelcome guest in my family. In my mom’s side of the family, 5 out of my Grandma’s 8 siblings passed away from cancer. Including my Grandma, that makes 6. Between my mom and her siblings, 3 out of 4 of them are currently diagnosed. Although we are cautious, we are not scared. We are strong and united in love and together we can overcome. After all,...
sneaky mcsneakerson
So what do you do when you have a strong suspicion that your closest friends are hiding something from you? I usually prefer to be on a need to know basis, but this just feels too blatantly obvious and almost disrespectful.
I don’t want to assume, but I don’t want to be naiive either. Do I seem like a person to judge? Or a person to scold or be scared of? Or even avoid?...
Whew! I finally figured out what I want to do in the long run. Now to figure out the quickest and easiest way of getting there.
Please stars, do your magic :)
The little moments
always hiding in plain sight
are the ones I love.
– Daily Haiku on Love by Tyler Knott Gregson (via tylerknott) (via quote-book)
Yep, a big amen on this one. The plain, inconspicuous moments of everyday are what make me love life even more.
Race as unity, rather than divison →
I’ve been avidly following the news on the hate crimes between African Americans and Asians in the Bay Area lately, and have been really astounded by how horrible it has become. Needless to say, it was really nice to see and hear about the big rally in San Francisco last night. After all, the debate really isn’t about hate and dominance of race but it’s about “how race...
Kick me please!
Ok, I seriously think I need some serious ass whooping. Haha….not literally (but maybe), but I need someone to kick my ass back into shape and onto a regular workout routine. I’ve been on the worst and laziest “sleep and stuff-my-face” routine lately that I’ve ballooned into a roly-poly fat kid. Eww! Gag! Gross!
Whew…now that that’s been said, major...
the answer to the immigration debate
A friend posted this as her status on fb and I really liked it so I thought I’d share:
“If you want to stop illegals from working then fine the American companies that hire them, don’t harass the workers that are doing the work that no one else will. They wouldn’t come if they couldn’t find work. If you say you can’t find a job go try picking lettuce or...
One day at a time — this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past...
– I loved this part: “Live in the present and make it so beautiful it will be worth remembering.”
Kickass Classical! →
Whenever I’m in a non-productive work mood, I either play J Dilla (which I will post later) or this kickass classical playlist and somehow it always gets me back into the groove.
SIGH. Sometimes I wish the stars would align and tell me exactly what to do. Other times I wish the stars would scatter and decorate my spontaneity.
Either way, I know my heart is ready for change.
crib digging
Damn…..house hunting is a lot more challenging than I thought. Let’s just pray that we find a perfect fit soon.
