Are you my toxin?
It’s weird. You think you know someone well enough and think you have a reason to connect, but oddly it’s actually the thing that keeps you apart. I feel like I’m hanging on to the very last string of friendship, despite the many years of camaraderie and cherished memories.
Or in this case….the more I try to reach out, the more it feels estranged. You always say that...

don't be a nice girl →
Pretty interesting food for thought I read on MSNBC.
“Nice girls don’t live the lives they want for one of two reasons: either they are unaware that their own behaviors are holding them back, or they don’t know what to do about it. Winning women are women who have learned how to win the respect they deserve, the success they’ve earned, and the life they want without being labeled a...

Godships > friendships
Saw this on a friend’s wall and after such a wonderful bonding experience this weekend, it couldn’t apply more than ever:
Whatever is lacking in our lives, whatever we’ve been asking God to provide that seems too slow in coming, whatever unmet needs we have – God gives it to us THROUGH and IN community. Community is SO important to God that he created us with a need for the...
the battle wounds of self discovery
Sometimes in our relentless efforts to reach our ultimate truths and happy endings, we fall into the trappings of false rewards and empty gratification. We keep asking why, what, how but never even blink to notice the answer that’s already in front of us. After all, peace isn’t the answer. Peace is the process. Learn to accept the beauty of every moment. Never forget that even little things...
Don’t you hate that? Uncomfortable silence. Why do we feel it’s necessary to...
– Pulp Fiction (via roscoe-)
Yup, exactly what I want in a guy. Just the right balance of intellectual stimulation and comfortable silences. Is that even possible?
Let the super rich share their wealth →
Thanks to Lovely for posting this, but I really liked this short article written by Warren Buffet himself on why he and his super-rich friends need to be taxed more.
As he bluntly states “My friends and I have been coddled long enough by a billionaire-friendly Congress. It’s time for our government to get serious about shared sacrifice.”

To answer to yourself first and foremost but know that you’re not alone. I’m going to make an assumption that most people have friends and family who are supportive of them and if they’re not, then you need to find people who are….because you’re not alone. Just because you’re not married, you’re not alone. Just because you don’t have kids, you’re no less a person. Love yourself.

randomest post ever!
This is the most random post ever, but I really hope I don’t end up becoming one of those short little Asian ladies with a huge bump of an ass (or as mean girls would say, “a wideset vagina”). I would really want to grow taller instead of wider.
Please….and thank you =)

Keep breathing and remember that great opportunities can come out of difficult times. Keep following the clues provided by your passions to see where they take you. Keep up the good work of being yourself.
crunch time
I should be freaking out and cramming, but it’s actually quite the opposite. I feel like I’ve been bitten by the horrible lazy bug and barely have any motivation to finish my story. GAH!!! Feel like I’m in the wrong state of mind to do this and I still ask myself why I even said yes. *smacks my forehead* Geez lady, get your shit together!!!

The 2011 World Yo-Yo Championships wrapped up in Orlando, Florida last Saturday. Here are the winning performers from each of division—all with their own hardware and stunt styles—pulling off tricks you can’t even fathom.

If I was him, I probably would have hit my head a few times. Haha…this guy’s got skills!
the bamboo ceiling →
Thought this was an interesting article on the San Jose Mercury about how our cultural background (particularly for Asians) may be holding us back. Asians are very hard working, smart, and motivated but it’s also true that we are more supporters rather than leaders. Thus, we also miss out on a lot of opportunities.
Here’s a quote I liked from one of the comments:
“We learn...
